911 Operator Minimize

 

Now accepting Pre-Screener applications for 911 Operators for future vacancies. 

Minimum qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or registered alien
  • Knowledge of Orange County geography helpful
  • Must be able to work 11-1/4 hour shifts with rotating days off
  • Must be able to speak and understand English
  • Must successfully complete a job related "CritiCall" test
  • Must be computer literate

  • $24,107 or $25,313 with 3+ years experience

Auto Technician Minimize

Clerical Positions Minimize

 

Administrative and clerical positions are considered for future openings in several areas:

  • Records Division
  • Fugitive Section
  • Judicial Section

Most of the shifts available are evenings or midnights, working weekends and holidays. 

Job Duties may include the following:

  • Receives paperwork and supporting documention
  • Enters data into and retrieves information from the appropriate database
  • Answers telephones, screens and routes calls, takes messages, and answers routine questions

School Crossing Guard Minimize

 

Qualifications:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or possess a state equivalency diploma is recommended but not mandatory.
  • Not have been convicted of a felony. Must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor involving moral character, false statements, perjury or domestic violence.
  • Be able to communicate in English.
  • Must successfully pass an agility test.
  • Must pass an occupational health medical exam.
  • Able to successfully complete a state certification course with a passing score of 75% or higher and re-certify annually.
  • Must be able to handle working with children and work in a high vehicle traffic environment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Salary: 

$9.25/hour

Crime Scene Investigators Minimize

Accepting applications for future positions.  Applications will be held for one year. 

Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • U.S. Citizen or registered alien
  • High school diploma or GED 
  • Associates degree from a two-year college or university in Forensic Science, Chemistry or biology; and one (1) year related expereince and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Valid Florida Drivers License and a good driving history
  • Clean criminal history; any arrest history will be individually evaluated
  • No illegal drug usage within the past two years, all other usage will be evaluated on an individual basis
  • Basic computer skills to include word processing applications

Salary: 

$32,344 or $33,966/annually with 3+ years experience

Job Summary: 

Applies scientific principles to analyze, identify and classify physical evidence related to crime scenes by performing the following duties: Searches for, collects, photographs, and preserves evidence.  Analyzes items such as paint, glass, printed matter, paper, ink, fabric, dust, dirt, gases, or other substances, identified hair, skin, tissue, blood, bones, or human organs.

Performs a variety of analytical examinations.  Processes the crime scene using chemicals, light source enhancement, and other methods.  Reconstructs crime scene, preserving marks or impressions made by shoes, tires, or other objects by plaster or moulage casts.  Sketches or draws details of crime scenes.

Collects and packages evidence for presentation in court.  Prepares reports or presentations of findings, methods, and techniques used to support conclusion. Completes photograph referrals, blood draws, photographs and prints of dead persons at the morgue.

Acts as a liaison between crime laboratories, investigators, prosecutors, and defense attorneys.  Confers with experts in relevant specialties as necessary. Submits evidence for examination to FDLE and/or FBI labs. Testifies in court hearings about work performed.

DUI Technician Minimize

Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • DUI or law enforcement experience preferred; training will be provided
  • Must be able to successfully complete a state certification course with a passing score of 80% after hire
  • Able to learn to operate technical equipment, i.e., breath testing, audio aide, computers, including data entry
  • Superior integrity, honesty and be willing to be challenged regularly
  • Able to work well with persons under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs
  • Work long hours (8p.m. - 6 a.m.) irregular and rotating schedules
  • Subject to call-out for court testimony
  • Valid Florida drivers license and personal vehicle is required; must have clean driving history
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish, Creole) helpful

Salary: 

$26,582 or $27,913 with 3+ years experience

Crime Analyst Minimize

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in Criminal Justice, Statistical Analysis, or closely related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Crime Analysis certificate preferred. 
  • One year related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet, and data base applications 
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts, such as probability, and statistical inference, frequency distribution, and correlation techniques
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals 
  • Able to effectively present information to, and respond to questions from management, outside agencies, business and the general public
  • FCIC/NCIC Limited Operator certification within one year of employment
