An off-duty employment application is required to hire off-duty deputies. We offer 4 different applications depending on the need of the customer, as well as a V.I.P. contract for Dignitary Protection. The forms are available in acrobat (except for the contract) or contact the Off-Duty Services Unit at 407-254-7408 to have one sent to you. If you download the form from this site, you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to view and print this form. Please provide all information requested in all boxes. Once the form has been filled out, fax to 407-254-7413 where the application will be reviewed by the Off-Duty Services Supervisor.
The Sheriff's policy is that applications be submitted in a timely manner. It could take up to three (3) days to finalize the request for off-duty employment. Dignitary or V.I.P. Services require a four (4) day advance notice. Payment to the deputy is expected at the end of the shift for short term jobs. If you do not have a specific deputy in mind, the position will be posted agency wide to make it available to all deputies. When a deputy is interested, he/she contacts the business/individual to obtain further information regarding the detail and inquire about paperwork necessary to secure payment for the detail. We also have long term jobs which go over 31 days and is billed on a monthly basis.
Orange County Sheriff's Office charges an Equipment Usage Reimbursement Charge which is currently $5.00 per hour. An invoice will be presented at the time of the detail and payment should be sent to the Off-Duty Services Unit at the address shown on the invoice.
Your initials, as well as your signature, on the application indicates you acknowledge receipt of the guidelines implemented on the application.
HOA's must fill out the HOA information sheet with the application. Even if there is a management company involved, we need the names, addresses and phone numbers of the officers. We do not contact them, this is strictly for our database.Types of job requests that are automatically refused is as follows:
- Jobs involving civil matters (domestic situations, labor disputes, union meetings, landlord/tenant disputes, etc.
- Jobs that are not in unincorporated Orange County, unless a letter is provided by the local Law Enforcement Agency giving us permission to work in their jurisdiction.
