The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc (CALEA) 

This accreditation program recognizes professional achievements for addressing and complying with established standards developed by law enforcement practitioners covering a wide range of up-to-date law enforcement topics. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) was initially accredited in 1995 and subsequently re-accredited every three to four years.

The OCSO has received three honors as a result of the assessments. They are the “Flagship”, “Gold Standard - Accreditation with Excellence” (2 time recipient) and the “Advanced Meritorious” (4 time recipient) awards.
